female impala waiting in the shade for the day to get cooler. The males are easily identified by their horns, which the females lack. Impala are a favourite meal for many of the large predators so it is of advantage to be in a group with many eyes and ears on the lookout for danger. Amusingly, the markings on their behinds bear resemblance to the logo for a certain fast food chain...
