Elephants are highly social creatures. Related females and young usually form groups of 2-10, and the males (from the age of about 15) live in loosely bonded groups. The trunk of the elephant contains 6 pairs of muscles, divided into over 100 000 units! This elephant is only about three years old (they wean at 3-8 years) but is already dextrous with his trunk.
