Zero is the king of Karongwe Game Reserve and is particularly impressive as he lives on a reserve with plenty of prey. A stressed or undernourished lion loses condition, and can even go bald – Zero, at the grand old age of about 12, has an enormous and luxuriant mane that makes him look about twice his real size (and also like he ought to be starring in a shampoo advert…)
